St. John's, New Alresford

The Church of St. John the Baptist is a welcoming church in the heart of New Alresford.

In addition to offering services from Common Worship and the Book of Common Prayer, we offer informal all-age services, Celtic Service of the Word, and more as we ty to encompass and encourage everyone.  We also join together in smaller groups for study, reflection and discussion, to nurture spiritual growth through every age and stage of life.  Our social activities are a wonderful opportunity for friendship and fun are an important part of our life together.

9.30am   Breakfast Church (family friendly worship with breakfast!)
6pm   Sundays @ Six

3rd Sunday
9.30am   Parish Communion (Common Worship)

4th Sunday
8am   Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer)
9.30am   Celtic Service of the Word

5th Sunday

Midweek Communion Service (Wednesdays)
10am service followed by coffee and tea in the John Pearson Hall

Four Licensed Lay Ministers give support and we have two worship leader who takes informal family services. There is a team of experienced pastoral visitors, which includes specialist bereavement and hospital teams. There is a linked and very active fundraising charity associated with the Church called FOSJ  - 'Friends of St. John's'.

New Alresford Town

St. John’s serves the whole community of Alresford.  It is there to meet the spiritual needs of the community which it does in a variety of ways: through the use of the church and its building and through the use of its John Pearson Hall.

By working as closely as possible with the other churches of the town. St. John’s is covenanted for unity with Alresford Methodist Church, St Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Church, Old Alresford comprising (Churches Together in Alresford).

St. John the Baptist is the main Anglican church for New Alresford
St. Mary the Virgin Church is in the village of Old Alresford
St. Peter's is in the village of Ovington
All Saints is a church in the village of Bighton

Each church has its own system of making newcomers welcome.  

Do I need to be a member to attend services regularly?  
Not at all.  All are welcome to attend any service.
