In atmospheric settings, with strong performances, and evocative cinematography, 'Small Things Like These'  is a careful exploration of the infamous Magdalene Laundries.

In 1985, devoted father Bill Furlong (played by Cillian Murphy) is regarded as a fair and hard-working man. The father of five girls, he discovers disturbing secrets kept by the local convent – about the infamous Magdalen Laundries that ran from 1922 to 1998 in Ireland -  and uncovers shocking truths of his own as the son of a single mother.
